Whitley CountyTransmission Line Rebuild Project

Indiana Michigan Power representatives plan to upgrade the electric transmission network serving customers in Whitley County. The Whitley County Transmission Line Rebuild Project involves rebuilding about 15 miles of power line and rebuilding a substation to increase electric reliability in the area. Company representatives plan to rebuild the power line in the existing right-of-way, which may require acquiring new or updating existing easements. Easements are defined land rights that property owners grant the utility to allow for the safe construction, operation, and maintenance of the power line.

Project Updates

Property owners in the area can expect to learn about next steps from Kristin Martin of O.R. Colan, the right-of-way agent representing I&M on this project. Kristin plans to work closely with property owners during field activities and easement acquisition prior to construction.
