The Kincaid-Pax Branch Transmission Line Project involves rebuilding approximately 4 miles of electric transmission line, building 6 miles of new electric transmission line and making upgrades to Toms Fork Substation and performing maintenance upgrades to other substations in the area.
Construction begins in the fall of 2023 and concludes by the end of 2025.
10/4/23: Company representatives continue reviewing and exploring environmental data for the Kincaid-Pax Branch Transmission Line Project. The project team is adjusting the project schedule. Landowners along the proposed line route will receive a mailing with the updated timeline once it's finalized.
09/01/22: Directly-impacted landowners can expect to hear in the coming months from the right-of-way contractor representing Appalachian Power. The utility needs to acquire easements for an approximate 100- foot right-of-way. Easements are defined land rights that property owners grant the utility to allow for the safe construction, operation and maintenance of the power line.
