The Fort Robinson-Hill Transmission Line Rebuild Project involves upgrading approximately 14 miles of 69-kilovolt (kV) transmission line and two substations in Scott County, Virginia and Sullivan County, Tennessee.
7/19/23: Construction is scheduled to begin during the first quarter of 2024.
10/28/2022: Right-of-way agents are working with landowners to acquire Permission to Survey and update or purchase new easements. Tree clearing and other pre-construction activities are expected to begin Spring of 2023.
03/04/2022: The project team has determined a proposed line route after reviewing input from landowners and community members. In the coming weeks, landowners along the line route can expect to hear from the right-of-way contractor representing Appalachian Power. To view the proposed line route, click on the "Map" tab below.
10/19/2021: Project representatives encourage landowners to submit their feedback about the project by Friday, November 19.
