Gilmer - PittsburgTransmission Line Replacement Project
SWEPCO representatives plan to improve electric reliability in east Texas by rebuilding approximately 23 miles of 69-kilovolt transmission line in Upshur and Camp counties. The project:
- Replaces 23 miles of 69-kilovolt line
- Replaces existing wooden poles with single steel poles
- Relocates portions of the line from its existing location
- Removes trees and woody-stemmed vegetation that have grown within SWEPCO’s right-of-way
Project Updates
SWEPCO representatives hosted a public open in January 2024 at the Gilmer Civic Center. Landowners were able to view detailed maps, talk to project team members and learn more about the project.
