The Alamito Creek - Fort Davis Transmission Improvements Project involves replacing an existing 69-kilovolt power line in Presidio and Jeff Davis counties. The existing line was constructed in 1929 and is past its service life. The project:
Late 2021: AEP Texas representatives held a virtual town hall for landowners and residents in the proposed transmission line area.
Early 2022: Following feedback gained during this virtual event, AEP Texas representatives hosted an in-person open houses in Marfa and Fort Davis.
Summer 2024: Company officials filed a Certificate of Convenience and Necessity (CCN) with the Public Utility Commission of Texas (PUC) following a review of public input on route link development and additional route analysis.
Fall 2024: The PUC approved the CCN in October. View PUC Docket No. 56413 here.
