AEP Ohio representatives plan power grid upgrades near St.Clairsville. Upgrades involve constructing about 1 mile of 69-kilovolt (kV) transmission line, rebuilding about 12 miles of 69-kV transmission line and installing equipment to improve the operation of the power grid.

Company representatives plan to rebuild the power line in the existing right-of-way, although they might need to acquire new easements or supplement current easements to ensure the safe construction, operation and maintenance of the line.

Project Updates

Summer 2023: Construction is ongoing and is scheduled to be completed late summer 2024.

Spring 2023: Crews and contractors are currently installing steel poles and wire along the power line route. Upon completion of construction, right-of-way agents plan to work with landowners during restoration.
