Lancaster AreaTransmission Line Rebuild Project
AEP Ohio representatives plan power grid improvements to maintain reliable electricity for customers in Fairfield County.
The project involves rebuilding approximately 4 miles of 69-kilovolt transmission lines.
- Approximately 1 mile of 69-kilovolt (kV) transmission line between Lancaster Substation off Whiley Avenue and East Lancaster Substation off S Ewing Street.
- Approximately 3 miles of 69-kV transmission line east of Lancaster Substation to Logan-Lancaster Road, north of Wilson's Lane Southeast.
Project Updates
Fall 2025: Construction activities began on this project, the week of September 15. Work is scheduled to continue through late 2026, depending on weather or other factors.
You may begin to see crews walking or using all-terrain vehicles to access the property during construction. Crews use existing roads or lanes whenever possible.
