Lancaster AreaTransmission Line Rebuild Project


AEP Ohio representatives plan power grid improvements to maintain reliable electricity for customers in Fairfield County.

The project involves rebuilding approximately 4 miles of 69-kilovolt transmission lines.

  • Approximately 1 mile of 69-kilovolt (kV) transmission line between Lancaster Substation off Whiley Avenue and East Lancaster Substation off S Ewing Street.
  • Approximately 3 miles of 69-kV transmission line east of Lancaster Substation to Logan-Lancaster Road, north of Wilson's Lane Southeast.

Project Updates

Summer 2024: Company officials announce this project, and launch the Virtual Open House to inform the public regarding the improvements.

Contract Land Staff, LLC (CLS) serves as AEP Ohio's right-of-way representative for this project. CLS agents plan to reach out to property owners in the project area discuss potential impacts and upcoming project activities.
