Findlay Area Improvements

AEP Ohio will upgrade approximately 30-miles of 34.5-kilovolt (kV) transmission line in northwest Ohio with 69 kV line. The lines travel from Findlay to North Baltimore located in Wood and Hancock counties connecting the New Liberty, North Baltimore and North Findlay substations. Improvements are essential to ensure continued reliable electric is available for customers. The existing transmission infrastructure has reached an age where it is in need of rebuild and upgrades to improve reliability for customers across the region.

The approximately $30 million improvements proactively rebuild and upgrade the transmission lines to decrease outages and speed recovery of service when outages occur. Aging wood poles will be replaced with steel monopoles and increased voltage to allow for economic development in the region.
