Indiana Michigan Power representatives plan power grid upgrades to improve electric reliability for customers in southern Cass County.
The project involves:
The project strengthens the electric transmission system by providing an additional power source to the area and supports the growing demand for electricity.
Fall 2023: As the project moves forward, I&M representatives have determined that additional environmental field studies are required for engineering purposes. Landowners affected by these studies should receive communication with additional details in the coming weeks. A representative from OR Colan (ORC), I&M's right-of-way representative on this project, will also be in touch to answer any additional questions about how the surveys will affect individual property owners.
The planned environmental surveys involve collecting topographical data such as the location of streams, wetlands and potential habitats for endangered species.
The project involves installing steel poles.
Typical Pole Height: Approximately 90 feet*
Typical Right-of-Way Width: Approximately 100 feet*
*Exact structure, height and right-of-way requirements may vary
