AEP Ohio representatives plan power grid upgrades in Crawford County. The project involves:
- Rebuilding about 3 miles of power line.
- Building about 1 mile of power line.
- Removing about 1 mile of transmission facilities.
Upgrading the transmission infrastructure ensures the power grid complies with current engineering and safety standards and supports the area's need for reliable power.
Project Updates
Spring 2026: AEP Ohio representatives announced the project and hosted a virtual open house in Early 2022. In 2023, the project team began reviewing and revising the project schedule. Since then, the project team has reviewed and revised the schedule. The timeline below incorporates the those updates.
Landowners along the line route can expect to hear from an OR Colan (ORC) agent, AEP Ohio's right-of-way representative for this project, to answer any questions about the project, including easements, field activities and next steps.
Early 2023: AEP Ohio representatives announced the final line route following a project open house and feedback from the community. Landowners along the potential power line route can expect to hear from right-of-way agents.
Early 2022: AEP Ohio representatives invite the community to attend a virtual open house to access additional project information and share input on possible route options under evaluation.
