White PigeonTransmission Line Project
The upgrades take place in the village of White Pigeon and Sturgis Township in St. Joseph County and include:
The project involves:
- Expanding and improving the Stubey Road Substation located near the intersection of Stubey Road and West Chicago Road in Sturgis
- Building about 9 miles of new 138-kilovolt power line between the Pigeon River Substation located on South Elkhart Street in White Pigeon and the Stubey Road Substation
- Removing about 9 miles of transmission line between Corey Substation and Cochran Road in Three Rivers and Mottville Substation near Hebron Road in Mottville.
The project strengthens the electric transmission system by providing an additional power source to the area and supports the growing demand for electricity. We are requesting feedback on possible study segments for the power line.
