Naismith - ResnikTransmission Improvements Project


The Naismith - Resnik Transmission Improvements Project involves building a 138-kilovolt (kV) transmission line to support industrial and commercial grown in the Portland area

The project:

  • Provides an additional source of power to support a fast-growing region
  • Supports economic expansion along the Corpus Christi Bay
  • Hardens the grid against severe south Texas weather
  • Reduces the likelihood and severity of wide, community-sustained power outages

Project Updates

September 2022: AEP Texas filed a Certificate of Convenience and Necessity (CCN) application with the Public Utility Commission of Texas (PUC).

January 2023: The PUC selected the final line route. View the PUC Final Order
