Joslin - CarbideTransmission Improvements Project

AEP Texas representatives plan power grid upgrades to improve electric reliability for customers in Calhoun County. The Joslin - Carbide Transmission Improvements Project involves building a new 138-kilovolt (kV) transmission line to strengthen the local transmission system.

AEP Texas officials plan to file a Certificate of Convenience and Necessity (CCN) with the Public Utility Commission of Texas (PUC) following a review of public input on route link development and additional route analysis. Project representatives expect to file a CCN application by early 2024. The final line route is determined by the PUC.
