Weleetka - OkemahTransmission Line Rebuild Project


Public Service Company of Oklahoma (PSO) representatives plan to rebuild about 12 miles of 69-kilovolt (kV) transmission line in Okfuskee County. This project strengthens the local electric system and provides more reliable service for area customers. Crews plan to start construction in late 2026 and finish in summer 2027.

Project Updates

Spring 2024: As this project has evolved, the timeline has shifted. Crews planned construction to begin in spring 2025 and conclude in late 2025. Now, PSO representatives expect pre-construction activities such as right-of-way access preparation to begin in late 2026, followed shortly thereafter by transmission line construction. Company representatives expect construction to conclude in summer 2027.

Fall 2023: PSO representatives announced this project in mid-August. O.R. Colan Associates (ORC) serves as PSO's right-of-way representative for this project. ORC representatives plan to begin contacting affected landowners in early 2024 to discuss field activities, easement acquisition and construction. As this project has evolved, the timeline has shifted. PSO representatives plan to start construction on this project in spring 2025 and conclude by late 2025.
