Public Service Company of Oklahoma (PSO) and AEP Oklahoma Transmission Company, Inc., representatives plan power line upgrades in to help maintain the safety and reliability of the local power grid. The investment involves rebuilding about 32 miles of 138-kilovolt (kV) line in Tulsa and Osage counties.
The project involves:
Late 2022 Update: Crews plan to complete work along the second portion of this project, the Highway 20 Tap section, by early 2023. In the meantime, crews plan construction along the final portion, the Hominy Tap section, to begin in early 2023 and finish by spring 2023. Construction along this section begins near the Highway 20 Substation and ends at the Hominy City Substation, located near the intersection of Cotton Gin and Ballard roads in Hominy.
Fall 2022 Update: Crews plan to complete work along the first section, Sand Springs - Wildhorse, by the end of 2022. In the meantime, crews plan construction along the final two sections according to the following schedule:
Highway 20 Tap section - starts October 2022 and is expected to finish in early 2023. Construction begins near the Wildhorse Shell Substation and ends at the Highway 20 Substation, located about 6 miles southeast of Hominy near Highway 20 and County Road 1551.
Hominy Tap section - starts early 2023 and is expected to finish in spring 2023. Construction along this section begins near the Highway 20 Substation and ends at the Hominy City Substation, located near the intersection of Cotton Gin and Ballard roads in Hominy.
The project involves installing steel poles.
