AEP Ohio, AEP Ohio Transmission Company, Inc., Buckeye Power and Washington Electric Cooperative reached an agreement in 2014 to improve electric service reliability in Monroe, Noble and Washington counties.
The Southeast Ohio Area Improvements includes replacing and upgrading the aged 23-kilovolt (kV) infrastructure by constructing a new 138-kV transmission grid on new and existing right-of-way.
This project will improve service for customers, reduce power outages and speed recovery of service if outages occur. The utilities will bring additional power sources into the region to improve electric service reliability.
The Improvements will improve the reliability of power to homes and businesses, and position the region for future growth.
