Millwood - HowardTransmission Line Rebuild Project

AEP Ohio representatives plan power grid upgrades to improve electric reliability for customers between Howard and Shelby in Richland and Knox counties. The Millwood - Howard Transmission Line Project involves rebuilding about 36 miles of power line.

Plans call for rebuilding the power line in the existing right-of-way, although company representatives might need to acquire new easements or supplement current easements to ensure the safe construction, operation and maintenance of the line.

Project Updates

Early 2025: Following a project announcement in summer 2022, we are currently evaluating the project schedule. Although company representatives had planned to file a regulatory application with the Ohio Power Siting Board in summer 2023, this filing has not yet occurred. We are committed to keeping you informed throughout this process and plan to update you with additional project details and a finalized schedule as soon as more information is available.
