Lamping - Woodsfield Transmission Line Project
AEP Ohio representatives plan power grid upgrades to improve electric reliability for South Central Power and Woodsfield Municipal Electric customers in Monroe County. The Lamping-Woodsfield Transmission Line Project involves building about 10 miles of 69-kilovolt transmission line and upgrading a substation.
Project Updates
May 2026: AEP Ohio's project team selected a final power line route using input received from landowners at the virtual and in-person open house. Impacted property owners can expect to hear about next steps from O.R. Colan, LLC (ORC), the right-of-way vendor representing AEP Ohio for this project. For immediate questions, you can contact Justin Kyer at 330-703-5219 or justin.kyer@orcolan.com.
February 2026: The Lamping-Woodsfield Transmission Line Project was previously announced in June 2020 with a virtual open house before being placed on hold while the team evaluated route options. Now, AEP Ohio representatives are re-engaging the project.
Plan to join us for an in-person open house from 5:30 - 7:30 p.m. on February 19 at Brown Community Center located at 100 Creamery Street in Woodsfield. Attendees can view detailed maps, talk with the project representatives and ask questions about the project. There's no formal presentation, so you can come and go at any time.
