BellefonteExtension Transmission Line Project

AEP Ohio representatives plan power grid upgrades into southern Ohio and northern Kentucky. The project involves rebuilding about 3 miles of power line and building 1 mile of new power line. The proposed upgrades improve electric reliability by replacing aging infrastructure and speeding recovery of service when outages occur.

Project Updates

Late 2020: At AEP Ohio, we are committed to keeping our customers and employees safe and healthy amid the COVID-19 pandemic. As a result of the social distancing recommendations made by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), we held a virtual open house in October. After reviewing input from landowners, company representatives selected a final proposed line route. Right-of-way agents are discussing plans with landowners.
