Southwestern Electric Power (SWEPCO) representatives plan to strengthen the local electric transmission system in northwest Louisiana by rebuilding a 7-mile long, 69-kilovolt (kV) transmission line.
The Blanchard - Lieberman line was constructed in 1962 and is past its planned service life. The project:
Spring 2026: SWEPCO representatives are currently re-evaluating the timeline and are expecting construction to begin Fall 2027 and conclude the following spring.
SWEPCO crews plan to install single-pole steel structures.
