Northern St. Joseph County Area Improvements Project

Indiana Michigan Power (I&M) representatives plan to upgrade the electric transmission network serving customers in northern Indiana. The project involves:

    The improvements:

    • Provide an additional power source to support the area’s industrial growth
    • Provide residential customers with more reliable electric service
    • Encourage additional economic development with increased power capacity

We are requesting feedback on possible route options for the 3-mile power line. Your feedback is important to us and helps our team determine a power line route that minimizes impacts to the community and environment.

Company officials expect construction to begin in late 2021 and conclude in Spring 2022.
