Indiana Michigan Power (I&M) representatives plan to upgrade the electric transmission network serving customers in western Fort Wayne. The project involves rebuilding about 3 miles of transmission line and upgrading a substation. The project increases electric reliability in the area. Plans call for rebuilding the transmission line in the existing right-of-way, although company representatives might need to acquire new easements or supplement current easements to ensure the safe construction, operation and maintenance of the line.
Field activities are scheduled to begin this summer and continue through the fall.
Chris Welbaum of EASi serves as the right-of-way agent representing I&M on this project. If you have questions about survey activities or want to reach out to Chris you can call him at (260) 255-8578 or email him at firstname.lastname@example.org.
The project involves installing steel poles.
