Eastern Muncie Area Improvements

Indiana Michigan Power (I&M) officials plan to upgrade the electric transmission network serving customers in eastern Muncie. The project involves upgrading about 4 miles of power line to increase electric reliability in the area. Plans call for rebuilding some sections of the line in the company's existing right-of-way and re-routing other sections of the line.

    Project Updates

Company representatives plan to host a public open house to answer questions and gather input from landowners and community members. The event takes place Thursday, November 14 at the Grissom Elementary School gymnasium, located at 3201 S Macedonia Ave. in Muncie. There’s no formal presentation, so the public can come and go at any time. I&M representatives plan to use feedback from the open house to help determine the final proposed power line route.
