Van Wert - HavilandTransmission Line Project

The project involves upgrading about 10 miles of 69-kilovolt (kV) transmission line that connects Haviland and Van Wert substations with a 138-kV power line. While company representatives plan to build most of the power line in the existing right-of-way corridor, plans call for re-routing a section of the line near Van Wert.

The project replaces aging equipment dating back to the 1920s with modern facilities. These improvements reduce the likelihood of future power outages and increase the power line capacity to support the growing electrical load in the area.

Project Updates

Company representatives determined a line route for the re-route after reviewing input from landowners and community members following the project announcement and open house. Landowners along the rebuild and re-route can expect to hear from a right-of-way agent to discuss next steps about field activities and right-of-way easements.
