North Newark - Sharp RoadTransmission Line Rebuild Project

AEP Ohio representatives plan power grid upgrades to improve electric reliability for customers in Licking and Knox counties. The North Newark-Sharp Road Transmission Line Rebuild Project involves updating about 20 miles of power line to increase electric reliability in the area. Plans call for rebuilding the power line in the existing right-of-way, although company representatives might need to acquire new or supplement current easements to ensure the safe construction, operation and maintenance of the line.

The Macksburg - Devola 138-kV Transmission Line Project is part of the multi-phase Southeast Ohio Area Improvements Project. This phase involves building approximately 17 miles of power line between the Macksburg and Devola substations.
