AEP Ohio representatives plan to strengthen the transmission system in Fairfield County, addressing the growing power demand in the area and enhancing reliable electric service to area customers.

The West Lancaster - West Millersport Transmission Line Rebuild Project involves:

  • Rebuilding approximately 15 miles of 138-kilovolt transmission line from southwest Lancaster to southwest Millersport.
  • Replacing deteriorating wooden poles with single steel poles.
  • Upgrading the West Lancaster and South Baltimore substations.

*This project requires Ohio Power Siting Board (OPSB) approval.

Summer 2024: AEP Ohio representatives have filed a Letter of Notification with the Ohio Power Siting Board (OPSB) for the proposed approximately 15-mile 138-kV line as the West Lancaster - South Baltimore- West Millersport Transmission Line Rebuild Project, Public Utilities Commission of Ohio Case No. 24-0689-EL-BLN,.

O.R. Colan (ORC) serves as AEP Ohio's right-of-way representative for this project. ORC agents plan to contact property owners in the project area to discuss potential impacts and upcoming project activities.
