AEP Ohio representatives plan power grid upgrades for customers in parts of Franklin, Pickaway, Adams, Highland, Ross and Pike counties. The Beatty - Stuart 345-kV Remediation Project involves upgrading Adkins Substation and increasing the height of 87 lattice towers by 5-25 feet along approximately 157 miles of 345-kilovolt transmission line, ensuring the continued safe operation of the transmission facilities.
Fall 2026: Company representatives filed two Construction Notices with the Ohio Power Siting Board (OPSB) for portions of this project under: Greene - Beatty 345 kV Transmission Line Adjustment Project, Case No. 26-0884-EL-BNR, which involves raising three existing lattice tower structures by approximately 15 to 20 feet by adding steel extensions along 1.2 miles of existing transmission line near Lambert and London Groveport roads in Pleasant Township, Franklin County. Stuart - Beatty 345 kV Transmission Line Adjustment Project, Case No. 26-0885-EL-BNR, which involves raising two existing lattice tower structures by 15 to 20 feet by adding steel extensions along 8.6 miles of existing transmission line in Darby and Monroe townships, Pickaway County. Since it's hunting season, we want to make you aware that you may begin to see crews conducting field surveys in the coming weeks. Field crews conducting surveys plan to use existing roads or lanes, whenever possible, to access the power line. AEP Ohio employees and contractors wear hard hats and high-visibility vests, carry an ID badge and clearly display identification on vehicle dashboards.
