Leon - Ripley Transmission Rebuild Project

    Appalachian Power and its affiliate, AEP West Virginia Transmission Company, plan to increase the reliability to customers in West Virginia by making upgrades to the existing transmission grid.

    The Leon - Ripley Transmission Rebuild consists of rebuilding about 14 miles of transmission line, expanding the Ripley Substation and making upgrades to the Leon Substation to help reduce the potential of extended outages to customers.

    Construction is expected to start in 2018 and be completed by the end of 2019. Estimated budget for the project is $32 million.
