Okmulgee City - WeleetkaPower Station Transmission Line Rebuild Project


Public Service Company of Oklahoma (PSO) representatives plan to invest approximately $26 million to upgrade the electric transmission system in Okmulgee and Okfuskee counties. Crews plan to begin construction in fall 2021 and conclude by fall 2022.

This project involves rebuilding about 24 miles of power line with steel single-pole structures and upgrading area substation equipment to increase electric reliability for customers.

Project Updates

Fall 2022: Crews and PSO representatives completed construction on this rebuild project and placed facilities in service on Sept. 8, 2022.

Summer 2021: PSO representatives plan to set up gates and culverts in preparation for the start of transmission line construction in fall 2021.
