Reaver Substation and Extension

The Reaver Substation and Extension project involves building a new substation in Franklin Township in Franklin County. The approximate 3-acre substation will be built on property owned by AEP Ohio. As part of this project, AEP Ohio will connect the substation to the existing Gay Street-McComb 138kV transmission line.

The Reaver substation will address reliability concerns and provide the area with a robust, reliable source of power for future economic development.

    Project Updates

In August 2018, AEP Ohio filed a Letter of Notification with the Ohio Power Siting Board (OPSB). The Letter of Notification to construct, operate and maintain this facility is pending before the OPSB.

AEP Ohio announced the new Reaver Substation and Extension project in May of 2018. Initial construction activity is underway.
