Monroe StreetSubstation and Transmission Line Project

AEP Ohio representatives plan power grid upgrades to improve electric reliability for customers in Pultney Township and the Village of Bellaire. The Monroe Street Substation and Transmission Line Project involves building approximately 2 miles of 69-kilovolt power line and upgrading the Monroe Street Substation.

The project involves:

  • Building about 2 miles of power line
  • Upgrading the Monroe Street Substation in Bellaire

Company representatives plan to build the power line in an approximate 50-70 foot right-of-way corridor and plan to supplement and acquire new property easements to ensure the safe construction, operation and maintenance of the line. Crews expect to begin construction Summer 2021.
