AEP Ohio plans to upgrade the local power grid in Highland, Clinton and Warren counties.
The project involves:
The improvements upgrade transmission structures that are more than 70 years old. This helps reduce the likelihood of power outages and speed recovery of service when outages occur.
The company plans to rebuild the transmission lines in its existing right-of-way. However, it might need to supplement current easements to ensure the safe construction, operation and maintenance of the transmission lines.
Late 2019: Right-of-way agents are working with landowners along the project route to discuss field activities, easement acquisition and construction. Following a line adjustment, a letter of notification was filed with the Ohio Power Siting Board on November 8, 2019.
