AEP Ohio Transmission Company, Inc., an affiliate of AEP Ohio, plans on improving the reliability of the electric transmission grid in Paulding, Putnam and Van Wert counties. The Haviland-North Delphos 138kV Transmission Line Project includes rebuilding about 17 miles of transmission line, which enhances the transmission infrastructure to improve the reliability of electricity to its customers. This project will be an approximate $20 million investment by the company.
The line runs between Haviland and Ft. Jennings through Blue Creek and Latty townships in Paulding County, Hoaglin and Jackson townships in Van Wert County and Monterey and Jennings townships in Putnam County.
The Ohio Power Siting Board granted approval to construct this project on December 27, 2017. Construction is scheduled to begin spring 2018 with the clearing of trees and building access roads.
