DeCliff - LaRueTransmission Line Project

AEP Ohio representatives plan power grid upgrades to improve electric reliability for customers in Bowling Green and Montgomery townships in Marion County. The DeCliff-LaRue Transmission Line Project involves building about 6 miles of 69-kilovolt power line and the LaRue Substation.

The project involves:

  • Building about 6 miles of power line
  • Building the LaRue Substation

Company representatives plan to build the power line in an approximate 60-foot right-of-way corridor and plan to acquire new property easements to ensure the safe construction, operation and maintenance of the line. Crews expect to begin construction in early 2022 and conclude Summer 2022.
