Bethel - SawmillTransmission Line Rebuild Project


AEP Ohio representatives plan to improve electric reliability and support economic development in northwest Columbus and the Dublin area.

The project involves:

  • Rebuilding approximately 5 miles of 138-kilovolt transmission line
  • Replacing existing towers with steel poles

Project Updates

AEP Ohio officials announced the Bethel-Sawmill Transmission Line Rebuild Project in November of 2019.

AEP Ohio representatives filed a Letter of Notification with the Ohio Power Siting Board (OPSB) in November of 2019 for a section of the project and received approval February 2020.

AEP Ohio representatives filed a Letter of Notification with the OPSB in March of 2020 for a section of the project.

Structure

Construction involves installing steel, single-pole structures between 80-95 feet tall.

Plans call for placing the structures in an approximate 50-foot wide right-of-way corridor.

Right-of-Way Width: 50 feet
