Longwood - ScottsvilleTransmission Line Rebuild Project


SWEPCO plans to upgrade the Longwood - Scottsville transmission line beginning this year. The company's plans for the transmission line upgrade involve replacing approximately 16 miles of wooden poles and wires with steel single-pole structures and new wires. Construction on the project begins Fall 2019 and facilities are placed in-service Fall 2020.

Project Updates

Right-of-way agents began communications to landowners about preliminary field activities this spring. Field crews are beginning environmental surveys which are required by state and federal laws. Some additional easement boundary surveys are planned to occur in the next several weeks as well.
