Ellerbe Road - Lucas Transmission Line Rebuild Project

    Southwestern Electric Power Company (SWEPCO) plans to invest $9 million to upgrade electric transmission infrastructure near Line Avenue and Ellerbe Road in Shreveport. The project involves replacing aging wooden poles with steel single poles and installing new wire along approximately 3 miles of transmission line in southeast Shreveport. Construction began Fall 2018 and is expected to be complete by Spring 2019.

    Project Updates

    Construction crews completed work to rebuild the transmission and placed it in-service late February 2019. 

    SWEPCO held a come-and-go open house on Tuesday, June 12, 2018, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Caddo Middle Magnet School auditorium at 7635 Cornelius Lane in Shreveport.
