Dublin West Innovation District Improvements

The Dublin West Innovation District Improvements involves building about 3 miles of double circuit 138 kilovolt (kV) and upgrading 2 existing substations. This project is located in Perry and Washington townships and the west side of the city of Dublin. This project supports local economic development and improves the electric service reliability by adding another source of power. The new line will be built primarily on single pole, steel structures. AEP Ohio anticipates completion of this project in spring 2019. Early estimates show this is an approximate $12 million investment.

Once the new transmission line is completed and operational, the company plans to remove about 6 miles of transmission wire from a line that connects a substation near Sawmill Road to the Dublin Substation.

Project Updates

As of November 2017, the project remains in the transmission line siting process. Given the extended time required for siting the project, the regulatory filing will be submitted in 2018.
