Powering Up: Summer Grove Area

AEP Southwestern Electric Power Company (SWEPCO) is planning to build a new substation, and approximately 1.5 miles of new 69-kilovolt (kV) transmission line in the Summer Grove area.



Approved Projects

North Shreveport – Longwood Transmission Line Rebuild Project

SWEPCO plans to invest approximately $18 million in upgrading the electric transmission grid in the North Shreveport and Longwood areas in Louisiana. The project is expected to be completed in Summer 2019.

Powering Up: Brownlee Road - North Market

AEP Southwestern Electric Power Company (SWEPCO) is addressing the need for stronger, more reliable electric service by upgrading local electric infrastructure. These upgrades will benefit the region by strengthening the transmission system and improving its reliability.

Powering Up: Cedar Grove Area

Southwestern Electric Power Company (SWEPCO) plans to rebuild approximately 2 miles of 138-kilovolt (kV) transmission line in the Cedar Grove area of Shreveport. These upgrades will benefit the area by providing more reliable electric service for growth and economic development.

Powering Up: Ellerbe Road – South Shreveport

AEP Southwestern Electric Power Company (SWEPCO) began work in the Cedar Grove area of Shreveport in October 2015 to address the need for stronger, more reliable electric service in the region.

Powering Up: Stoner Hill Area

AEP Southwestern Electric Power Company (SWEPCO) is planning to rebuild approximately 1.7 miles of 69-kilovolt (kV) transmission line in the Stoner Hill area of Shreveport.
