Cannonsburg Transmission Line Rebuild Project

Kentucky Power plans to strengthen the transmission system in eastern Kentucky by upgrading its existing infrastructure. The Cannonsburg Transmission Line Rebuild Project consists of rebuilding approximately 5 miles of transmission line to increase electric reliability and reduce the likelihood of extended outages. Construction is expected to start this fall and be complete by the end of 2019.

Project Updates

Kentucky Power will hold an informational open house to share project information. The open house will be held from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., Wednesday March 21 at Ponderosa Elementary School. Company representatives will answer questions, share details about the project and gather public input.

Structures

Structures along the route will be about 75 feet tall. The typical right-of-way will be about 100 feet wide. Kentucky Power is replacing aluminum structures with galvanized steel H-frame structures.
