Roanoke - Marion Transmission Line Rebuild Project

Indiana Michigan Power (I&M) is rebuilding approximately 37 miles of existing 138-kilovolt (kV) transmission line connecting the Sorenson Substation in Roanoke to the Deer Creek Substation in Marion. The improvements are essential to ensure continued reliable electric service is available for customers across the region. Double circuit lattice structures utilizing breakthrough overhead line design (BOLD) will maximize the infrastructure's performance while minimizing environmental impacts and overall system costs.

Project Updates

Fall 2017: Right-of-way agents have begun contacting affected landowners on the first phases of the project, where needed.
