Albion – South Goshen Transmission Line Rebuild Project

Indiana Michigan Power (I&M) will upgrade the 138-kilovolt (kV) transmission line that travels from the Albion area to south of Goshen. The improvements in Noble and Elkart counties are essential to ensure continued reliable electricity is available for customers. The existing transmission infrastructure has reached an age where it is in need of rebuild and redesign to improve reliability for customers across the region.

Rebuilding approximately 21-miles of transmission line decreases outages and speeds recovery of service when outages occur. Existing lattice structures will be replaced with steel monopoles designed to expand the distance between poles to reduce impacts to landowners.

Project Updates

Fall 2017: Right-of-way agents are contacting affected landowner to negotiate easements, where needed. For more information on the project, please visit the Virtual Open House or Contact Us with any questions or concerns.
